After meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that many topics were discussed and issues related to the progress of reforms in Albania.
“We discussed the cooperation in the Security Council, the region, the progress of reforms in Albania and in general we touched on all topics that are important for this relationship, including common topics of the NATO alliance,” Rama told VOA.
It is a process when two countries come together to address one or several specific files and the US proposed Albania to cooperate in the Security Council, said Rama who added that it was accepted with pleasure. “It gives us the opportunity to play a special role in the Security Council.”
According to him, Ukraine is not an issue of Albania but of the whole world, of the UN. “We will have the US side in this process and the decision-making will be the US. The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has taken measures for the Albanians in Ukraine as we have some Albanian citizens who are part of the OSCE mission and continue to be there,” said Rama. / Argumentum.al
