TIRANA, March 11 – Indrit Sefa, the legal representative of the Democratic Party (DP) faction led by acting chairman Enkelejd Alibeaj, said on Saturday that no additional documents will be filed with the Central Election Commission (CEC) as the filed documentation is complete.
In a statement to the media outside the premises of the CEC, Sefa said that the Commission should make a decision as soon as possible and not wait for 24:00 on Saturday, as the legal provision provides.
Asked what will be done if the CEC decides not to register the DP faction in the election, Sefa replied that only legal channels will be followed.
“DP does not file any additional documents, what we have filed is complete and legal. The commissioner has a duty to make a decision as soon as possible and there is no time to waste. The political games and arguments raised by him cannot be raised in this building,” Sefa said.
CEC has also decided not to register the Democratic Party led by Sali Berisha in the May 14 local elections, but its head has said that DP will participate in the elections in the frame of a coalition. However, it is not said anything about the coalition. /Argumentum.al
