TIRANA – “The U.S. Department of Justice’s OPDAT program at U.S. Embassy Tirana continues its support for the new justice’s bodies in Albania,” has said a notification released by the U.S. Embassy on Thursday.
During their discussion with Ambassador Kim this week, SPAK members said that OPDAT’s donation of laptops will improve their ability to work in the field and maintain minimal contact during these challenging times, according to the notification. “During the last several months, SPAK members continued their investigations, reviewing and filing cases, reflecting their dedication to make the SPAK an effective force against organized crime and corruption. Even during this difficult period, proactive investigations were carried out for the criminal proceedings registered for corruption.”
In addition the U.S. Embassy said that Ambassador Kim stressed OPDAT’s technical support is only part of the full support that U.S. Embassy Tirana has given and will always give to SPAK and the entire reformed judicial system.
“The Ambassador encourages everyone in this country – common citizens, officials, politicians, everyone – to support the SPAK while it continues to build its foundation with the NBI selection process,” concluded the notification. /argumentum.al
