TIRANA, December 14 – The Ambassador of the United States of America to Albania, Yuri Kim reacted on Wednesday to the swearing in of Gent Ibrahimi as the 9th judge of the Constitutional Court.
“The 9th judge of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Albania was sworn in. The CC reached functionality in December 2020 with 7 judges. Now, for the first time since October 2016, the Constitutional Court has a full body. This is a key moment in the implementation of justice reform. Step by step, ” said Kim.
“This was the result of cooperation between institutions, including the Presidency, the Parliament, the KED, the Supreme Court. The next step: We expect the completion of the Supreme Court team at the beginning of next year, so that more cases can be processed in time.
