TIRANA, November 20 – “I am not an optimist, I will leave not because I think we can do anything, but to not give them the so-called Leibnitz’s ‘sufficient reason’ to blame Serbia for not wanting to participate in something,” has said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on TV Prva on Sunday.
Vucic confirmed that the mediated EU talks with the Kosovo PM, Albin Kurti will begin Monday morning at 8 am in Brussels. According to him, there was an urgent invitation from Brussels.
He insisted that Belgrade is asking for the formation of the Association of Serbian Municipalities in the northern part of Kosovo where a 40,000- Serb minority lives. According to him, the proposal has been made by the Serbian management team. Vucic said that Pristina should also cancel the decision on license plates, assessing that Kosovo officials “lied that it was something they had the right to and that it was not the first time that they lied“.
Serb head of state said that there is no doubt that the situation is more difficult than in the last ten years and that it is not only about the plates, but also about the decisions that Kurti announced at the recent meeting in Berlin when the agreements on diplomas, identity cards and professions were signed.
Vucic said that he is ready to discuss the Franco-German proposal on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina because Belgrade wants to give a chance to changes in the proposed solution.
He warned that there would be “hell on the ground” if the licence plate decision was to be implemented in the north of Kosovo. “Serbia will protect its people. I hope that this will not happen, but it doesn’t depend on us,” said Vucic.
Vucic pointed out that he does not believe a word of the Germans and other Western countries when it comes to Kosovo!!!
There is a long time that Serb ruler has not used such a warmongering language threatening Kosovo when he referred to ‘hell on the ground’ if the legitimate government of Pristina starts the application of the rightful decision on the license plates on November 21.
Vucic was also arrogant to Germany and other Western countries warning that when it comes to Kosovo he does not believe a word of what they say. It is surprising how shy the big powers of Europe are towards the despotic head of Belgrade’s government, especially as he continues not to abide by the EU sanctions against Russia because of its invasion of Ukraine.
Brussels whips every Balkan country, including Albania, if they develop relations with Russia or even China although some EU members step up their economic and trade relations with them. The EU is divided and apparently this card is used very smartly by Vucic.
The Serb President has also the support of Albanian PM Edi Rama who was in Belgrade a few days ago and no comment was made by him regarding the dangerous situation in Kosovo. His performance was very friendly with Vucic in an event where Kosovo was not invited. In another event Rama ignored Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who behaved courageously.
The scenario leads to believe that all are against the stance of Kosovo in defense of its integrity and statehood pressing on its leadership to surrender to Serbia. In unison the EU and the US blame official Pristina for the aggravation of the situation, and the clear minded people arrive at the point of asking: has the West, particularly the US, repented that Kosovo has been declared an independent state?
But all Albanians living in Serbia in their lands in the Presevo Valley, who suffer from the savage discrimantion of Belgrade, have not received any protection from the EU and the US regarding their human rights. They have raised their voice many times but all their demands have fallen on deaf ears.
Hard times are waiting for Kosovo people and all Albanians in Serbia, whose number passes 100,000 after the latest census, in the coming days being left alone by their ‘strategic’ allies!
As in the past Albanians should unite to protect their freedom and rights against Serb chauvinists, whose scheme of creating the Serbia World, has taken dangerous dimensions against the backdrop of the Russian aggression on Ukraine and stronger support of the ‘big brother’ Vladimit Putin to Aleksandar Vucic. /Argumentum.al
