TIRANA, May 4 – Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, stated in Tirana on Thursday that Albania has very ambitious plans for the development of the country’s energy sector, which are important not only from the point of view of domestic demand for energy, but also for the whole region.
In a statement in a joint press conference with her host Belinda Balluku after the work of the Joint Committee that was held in Tirana, Shahbazov said that holding the Joint Committee with Albania is important for increasing the level of discussion in intergovernmental commissions and that shows the current relationship of our two countries.
“Today was an excellent day to discuss all spheres of the economy, and energy was one of the most important points of our cooperation. It is important to emphasize that Albania and Azerbaijan are participants in important energy infrastructure projects in the southern gas corridor,” he said.
The Azeri Minister assured support to advance the initiatives in the energy sector saying that Azerbaijan is determined to support Albania in these initiatives. “But we have not limited the discussion only to energy. We also discussed other topics important for economic development, such as industry, agriculture, transport, infrastructure, and modern technology. We agreed to further develop this dialogue,” Shahbazov said. /Argumentum.al
