TIRANA, August 23 – Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku said at the joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama about the research in Shpirag on Wednesday that the discovered oil is located at a depth of more than 6 kilometers and 15 wells will be opened.
“The reservoir in the contract of zones two and three is connected and as long as it is connected other drilling will take place to relieve the flow, but we know that the reservoir is connected,” said Balluku.
The minister also spoke about the three possible SHELL scenarios for the transport from the triport of Vlora to Porto Romano in Durrës.
“Product access to the Triport of Vlora with product access to the Exit Point of TAP, in the area of Fier. They are preparing to set up a floating port platform 7 km off the coast. The first two options will be considered by the company. A greater involvement of the Ministry of Infrastructure will be required to meet the cooperation requirements,” the minister said.
Balluku said that the extracted oil is of high quality according to laboratories in the Netherlands.
Further, she stressed that more than 5,000 workers are expected to be hired, a large part of whom are being trained by the Shell Academy. Balluku also said that all the appropriate instruments have been set up to have complete control and discipline regarding the oil fields, production and declaration by the concessionaires. /argumentum.al
