While the deputies of the opposition Democratic Party (DP) are waiting for his resignation, the DP chairman, Lulzim Basha seems unnerved in his stance. After the ultimatum of the DP parliamentary group to resign, the Democrat leader, Basha gave a comment to the media on Thursday saying he is available to do everything to unite the party.
“First of all, I want to say that I am grateful for the help that every member of the European People’s Party gives the DP and the Democrats. Secondly, I remain available to do everything for the sake of the Democrats and to unite the Democratic Party,” said Basha. A meeting of the College of Chairmen who represent DP branches across the country seems to have given the main support to Basha who is challenging even his former closer supporters like Alebeaj and Tabaku who resigned from the posts of deputy party heads in a gesture of protest of their disagreement with their former boss. /Argumentum.al
