“Albanians know very well that to get a seal or a signature, or a piece of paper in this country it is necessary to wander not for hours, but for days and weeks for the simplest, most ordinary thing. But, they have also seen throughout the last week how the state officials cannot give an explanation why 23 million euros of this state were given according to one procedure,” has said the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha.
Basha held a press conference on the corrupt affair of incinerators on Sunday saying that shocking evidence has emerged from a number of officials and representatives of this affair in the parliamentary commission for the investigation of incinerators.
According to him, government officials have concluded 17 state acts with Albanian money in one day. “They opened the bid, determined the winner, signed the contract, made the money ready, gave him an advance of 23 million euros in a single bidder with zero experience in that job,” he said.
According to him, “Rama and the government are afraid of the truth and that is why they ordered the closure of the commission.”
Basha said that the painful truth is that all Albanians were robbed of 430 million euros in the years of pandemics, earthquakes and major economic disasters.
In the meantime, the DP head appealed to the Director General of State Police, Gledis Nano, not to stop, as he said, according to “order from above” the TIMS data for the investigative commission.
“I take this opportunity to appeal to the Director General of Police, Gledis Nano. According to the law and the constitution of the country, the state police cannot deny the access to the requested information by the investigation commission for the incinerators,” said Basha.
In conclusion, he said that the non-cooperation of the state police with the parliamentary commission for the investigation of incinerators is in itself not just a criminal offense, but a discrediting of the state police in the eyes of citizens and in the eyes of partners. /argumentum.al
