TIRANA, December 6 – Relations between Albania and Croatia are very good and traditionally friendly, has said President Bajram Begaj in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, who is in Tirana where he participate in the EU-Western Balkans Summit held on December 6.
Begaj praised the very special role that the Albanian diaspora has played and plays in Croatia, referring to the old diaspora of the Arbanas of Zara as “a common pride”.
Regarding the close partnership in NATO, President Begaj appreciated the joint journey of the two countries, which today contribute with all their political and diplomatic capacities to guarantee peace and security in the Western Balkans region.
Begaj lauded the support that Croatia has given and is giving Albania and the enlargement process, adding that “the organization of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Tirana is the best message for this support.”
The two interlocutors discussed the latest developments in the Western Balkans region, underlining the necessity of continuing the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
