TIRANA, November 26 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha reacted on Saturday regarding the refusal that the State Police has conveyed to the DP not giving permission for holding the protest announced on December 6 the day of the EU Summit with the countries of the Western Balkans.
Berisha said in a post on social networks that the State Police announced on Friday evening that they do not know the Constitution and the laws of Albania.
“Regarding this announcement, I remind these vassals of (PM) Edi Rama that the Constitution does not recognize restrictions on protests and citizens’ freedoms. But in addition to this, there is a decision of the Constitutional Court, which rules that the protester has no obligation to notify the police,” said Berisha.
According to him, the state police of Rama is treating the summit of EU leaders as if the dictators of the world are gathering in Tirana at a time when those who come to the Albanian capital are citizens elected by free vote.
“Clarifying the European position, the European Commission requested that the right to protest be respected. Therefore, that rejection is unjust. It shows the true face of this regime that is terrified by the opposition people, who will fill the square on the 6th at 12 o’clock,” said the DP head.
Berisha also spoke about the meeting of the two Assemblies of Kosovo and Albania. According to Berisha, Rama is a vassal of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and cannot be presented as a patriot.
“Rama is a vassal of Vucic. He cannot present himself as a patriot. He is a determined enemy of Kosovo’s independence and its future in the EU,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
