TIRANA, March 6 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, held a meeting with the ambassador of Hungary to Tirana, Loren Balla, at the DP Headquarters on Monday.
As the DP head announced in a post on Facebook, the political developments in Albania were discussed during the meeting. Berisha wrote that he informed the ambassador about the farce of the judicial process, unprecedented in the history of Albania, with which Edi Rama seeks to impose on the citizens in the most anti-democratic way who should represent them as the opposition.
“Despite this context, which is following a series of actions aimed at destroying political pluralism in the country, as evidenced by the McGonigal scandal, I assured the Ambassador about the participation of the Democratic Party in the May 14 election process, guaranteeing that DP remains committed to the best principles of electoral contests in respect of free vote and citizen democracy,” said Berisha’s post.
Further, Berisha expressed thanks for all the historical friendship that characterizes the Albanian-Hungarian relationship on behalf of the Democratic Party, but also for the special role of the friend and Prime Minister Orban in intensifying and promoting cooperation between Albania and Hungary. “He (Orban) has been and remains an unsparing supporter of the Democratic Party and our conservative causes in the promotion of fairer national and family values,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
