TIRANA, July 12 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, said on Wednesday that the prosecution notified former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj of the decision to arrest him before informing the Assembly.
“Arben Ahmetaj, the deputy prime minister of Edi Rama’s government criminal organization, is on the run. For the first time in the history of the country, the super minister or deputy prime minister, de facto of the criminal organization led by Rama, escapes. According to official documents, Arben Ahmetaj escaped a few hours before the party’s prosecution was going to ask the parliament for permission to arrest him,” Berisha said in a statement to the media.
According to media reports, Ahmetaj is in Canada.
Berisha added that the prosecution apparently notified Ahmetaj before they informed the parliament of the decision to arrest him, and the request of the Special Prosecution was hidden for three days from the country’s parliament.
“The escape of Arben Ahmetaj proves that for the members of Edi Rama’s criminal organization, responsibility is replaced by theft, and at the end of their career, after they have filled their suitcases with the stolen money, they escape or are sent into exile to spend and enjoy their money,” underlined Berisha.
According to him, the escape of Ahmetaj or his sending to the asylum by Edi Rama marks the peak of the degradation of the criminal organization, but also of the humiliation of Albanian society. /argumentum.al
