TIRANA, January 31 – “We gather today in an unprecedented, extraordinary moment, at a time when due to the clear anti-Albanian and anti-democratic acts of Edi Rama, Albania is at the center of a powerful world media cyclone,” said the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha at the DP chairmanship meeting on Tuesday.
According to Berisha, the act of turning into a corruption asset a man who never deserved that office but who had an important position in the security of the US and free countries, means a hostile act of magnitude that exceeds any kind of limit or line.
Further the DP head said that McGonigal’s private visits to Albania being in office, the secret meetings with Edi Rama, his paid engagement to saw the main pillar of the democratic order, which is pluralism, to destroy the opposition for the sake of Edi Rama’s power is a crime of macabre proportions.
“But one thing is certain – his connections with Edi Rama are the most shameful in the history of this country. That is action equal to a coup d’état, ugly cooperation against the US, Albania, NATO and free countries. The power of the most powerful institution in the US was used for private purposes by Edi Rama by bribing the head of counterintelligence of the FBI,” Berisha said, adding that he was engaged by Rama to help his close friends Vangjush Dako, Tom Doshi declared non grata by the State Department. /Argumentum.al
