TIRANA, March 3 – For nearly two hours, the opposition protested peacefully on “Dëshmoret e Kombit” Boulevard on Friday, demanding the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.
Although this rally coincided with the pending decision of the Court of Appeal on the future of the Democratic Party (DP), its chairman Sali Berisha made it clear that the goal was the prime minister.
“He wants to destroy the Democratic Party. He thinks and believes that he will exclude it from the elections. Edi Rama, we will expel you from Albania. We are here as long as the earth. What comes from God is welcome.”
The accusations against him continued not only for the McGonigal case and that of the incinerators, but also for the depopulation of the country.
“He is the biggest looter in the history of the country. Albanians decreased by about 1 million inhabitants in 8 years. At these rates, Edi Rama intends that after 16 years there will be empty buildings, refugee camps, nurseries for traffickers, but not real Albanians”.
Berisha did not hesitate to describe him as the worst enemy of the country, reminding him that for him there is no turning back from the revolution started with the Albanians.
In this mission, he sought the unification of Albanians regardless of their political convictions as well as those disappointed by the political class in these three decades.
With Berisha’s words, the opposition’s protest was also closed, but when asked about the decision of the Court of Appeal at the party headquarters, Berisha was cautious in his comments.
“I do not intend to make any preliminary discussion about the court. We protested against Rama and we were there (in Boulevard) for Rama and not for the court”.
Although Sali Berisha did not speak about a date for the next protest, he said that the revolution started with the citizens will not stop until the fulfillment of his mission. /Argumentum.al
