TIRANA, November 23 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has said that the DP will present 23 amendments to the draft state budget for the coming year in Thursday’s plenary session of the Assembly.
“The presented amendments naturally constitute a real reversal of budget planning and distribution from a budget to be stolen to a budget serving citizens, their needs, their salaries and pensions, the lowest in the region. They become lower according to this budget as it is presented,” said Berisha in the meeting of the DP parliamentary group on Wednesday.
Salaries and pensions have been prioritized, demanding a 25 percent increase of them In the prepared amendments. In addition, a very significant increase is required for education, health, and fiscal measures in favor of citizens to reduce the burden of the terrible prices in today’s market.
“It will be required to reduce the VAT to 6 percent for energy and food, to equalize the VAT for agricultural products, to remove the gas excise, the cash register limit, and to reimburse all the damages of Covid for businesses,” said Berisha.
A 30 percent salary increase for university lecturers is requested, and the DP supports the request for the doubling of economic aid.
It is a radical new transformation and organization of the state budget. “The battle is fierce, the thieves who steal from morning to midnight do not stop and do not get enough,” said the DP chairman. /Argumentum.al
