“In case we did not reach the maximum, we proved our vitality, our determination. We testified before all Albanians and the world that the fiercest enemy after Enver Hoxha is Edvin Rama and his hostage Lulzim Basha.”
With these words former Prime Minister Sali Berisha addressed the media at the end of the protest, which failed to remove the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha, from the super armored headquarters, having the protection of numerous police forces on Saturday.
“You saw how Rama unfolded his scenario against pluralism in Albania and the DP. Today everything was clear, but this battle shows to us free people that the path we have to trespass is not easy and that it goes through sacrifices and determination. I guarantee you that it is a successful and victorious path. Today we proved that we are the real opposition of this country. I have long stated that this is an unstoppable revolution and it can only be stopped by overthrowing the narco-state,” said Berisha.
According to him, the revolution aims at returning to power through the free vote of the DP and it was possible to return the free vote in 3-month time.
“Edi Rama can never keep the Democrats locked in a bunker. Let us disperse with the oath to return as soon as possible to another battle stronger than this,” Berisha said while thanking his supporters for their courage.
He also announced that the next date for the protest will be announced at another time. “We will set a time so that 44,000 men and women of freedom can gather like today,” Berisha concluded his statement while announcing the closing of the protest.
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha joined his supporters at the DP headquarters at noon on Saturday where they held the protest called earlier by him.
Initially, the situation started with some slight tensions, but then the situation aggravated after Berisha’s supporters entered the premises of the Democratic Party. From the scene it was seen that there were harsh confrontation as well as doors were broken and homogeneous substances were used.
Meanwhile, with the escalation of the situation, the DP’s Basha requested the intervention of the State Police, which dispersed the crowd with tear gas.
Hundreds of heavy armed police units were stationed since early in the morning.
After several hours of protest, it was Berisha who announced the closure of the event, while hinting that the revolution has not stopped and that he will announce the date for the next protest at another moment. / Argumentum.al
