Fifteen people aged 1, 45, 49, 58, 61, 61, 65, 65, 66, 70, 71, 72, 80, 82, 86 infected with COVID-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of victims to 672, said local medical authorities as quoted by exit.al on Friday.
Some 836 new infected cases have been confirmed, a record high since the beginning of the pandemic last March bringing the total number of cases to 31,459.
Friday’s death toll and new cases mark a record spike since the outbreak of the pandemic.
490 people have recovered, 15,055 since the beginning of the pandemic.
There are currently 436 patients hospitalized with the virus, 10 are in intensive care, 5 are intubated in aggravated condition. It’s reported that
15,732 cases are still active in the country.
In the meantime government and opposition continue to trade accusations on the claims of DP head Lulzim Basha that the true figures of fatalities have been hiiden. He insists that prosecution should start a probe but the reaction of majority and medical staff related to it consider Basha’s charges as fake news.
