President Ilir Meta has revealed that he has informed PM Edi Rama four times and has not received any response on the Vlora-Orikum road project in southern Albania from him as Foreign Minister.
Meta confirmed on Tuesday once again that this project is being blocked as the President himself has requested cooperation for respect of law, legality, transparency and implementation of the Constitution. On the other hand, he clarified that it is not his job whether Rama forgets or does not want to implement the Constitution.
“Rama in a theatrical performance declares with voice and image that he has done all the negotiations with the Saudi Fund for Development,” Meta said, adding that in the meantime the Finance Ministry confirmed there had been no talks.
President concluded by raising the question if the PM wanted a non-negotiated agreement or an accord in violation of the Constitution.
Earlier on Monday Rama accused President Meta of blocking funds for the construction of the road that will connect Vlora with Radhima and Orikum, saying that all local population knew that the project was blocked by the head of state.
Finance Minister Anila Denaj retorted on Tuesday to Meta’s declaration saying he was totally wrong and declared she will answer to him with stubborn facts on Wednesday. /argumentum.al
