TIRANA, September 6 – The British Minister of Emigration, Robert Jenrick, declared before the parliament that since the agreement that London reached with Albania in December last year, 3,500 Albanian immigrants have been returned.
According to him, there is a significant decrease with 90% of Albanians already arriving in Great Britain illegally. During this year, 12,600 illegal immigrants returned to Albania, a figure 75% higher than the same period last year, Jenrick reported.
The minister further added that immigrants who are found to have made false reports on their cases will face severe penalties. The new rules, according to him, follow the historic Illegal Migration Act, which, together with their Partnership with Rwanda, will bring about decisive changes to remove all incentives that lead migrants to undertake illegal crossings from France.
The minister further added that while the British plan is working best, irregular immigration is increasing in the European Union. In Italy, the increase in the number of clandestines is 100%, he said, compared to 20% registered in the United Kingdom. /argumentum.al
