Brutal Refusal of Russian Vaccine by Albanian PM Edi Rama as Political Tool

After using the epidemic for domestic politics, the government of Edi Rama has started to use it for geopolitics as well, has said the well-known doctor Erion Dasho in a commentary under the headline ‘Politics and geopolitics with the vaccine’ carried by local media on Tuesday.
Among others Dr. Dasho, a very shrewd observer of the progress of the Covid pandemic in the world and particularly in Albania, considered generous the offer of the Russian Embassy in Tirana regarding the Sputnik -V vaccine made to the Albanian government a few days ago. According to him, the Prime Minister gave a response not at all diplomatic, but even paradoxical when he asked the Russian Embassy to apologize for offering the Sputnik vaccine to Albanian citizens.

Dr. Dasho is worried that since March and until now the government, the ministry and the committee of experts have not taken any effective measures to control the COVID epidemic in Albania.
“Unfortunately, the vaccine, the only means thought to be able to change the course of the epidemic, has again turned out to be a propaganda tool for the government,” said Dr. Dasho in his comment. /argumentum.al
