TIRANA, September 20 – The visit of the Bulgarian ambassador, Ivaylo Kirov to Pustec, has turned into a bone of contention among the representatives of the minority on Wednesday.
The vice-chairman of the Alliance of Macedonians, Eftim Mitrevski, described this visit of the distribution of food aid as a propaganda for the process started for the population census, describing it as a pressure being put on the residents of Pustec.
But the Bulgarian diplomat denied the pressures. In a conversation, Kirov said that citizens are free to express themselves during the census process and that the Bulgarian authorities are not concerned about the figures of that process.
During the visit to Pustec, the ambassador brought aid to the health center, a Bulgarian donation. The optional declaration of ethnicity and religious belief is foreseen in the census launched by the Albanian government on Monday. /argumentum.al
