The National Assembly can change any letter of the statute of the Democratic Party (DP), has said former President Bujar Nishani.
Nishani reacted to the statement of the Secretary General, Gazment Bardhi, according to whom the DP does not recognize the referendum. The former president said on a talk show on a local TV on Friday that the first step for the revival of the Democratic Party is the removal of Lulzim Basha from its leadership.
Nishani has been the head of the National Council of the Democratic Party. For him, the main responsibility for the serious situation in which the Democratic Party finds itself is its chairman Lulzim Basha. Nishani, along with many former leaders of the Democratic Party, MPs and former MPs of this party, has joined the Foltore initiative convened by the historical leader of the Democrats Sali Berisha, through which it is aimed to restore sovereignty and dignity in the main force of the opposition.
The marathon event was launched in Tirana on Thursday.
