Citizens in Tirana have protested against the Russian occupation of Ukraine. The protest took place in front of the Russian Embassy in Tirana. With placards in hand and the Ukrainian flag, protesters have called against war. “Albania is with you,” the appeals of the citizens were heard from the crowd.
Ukrainians living in Albania also joined the protest.
The Ukrainian ambassador to Tirana, Volodymir Shkurov, said that Kiev was on fire and that 16 children had been killed, while calling on the Russian people to say no to war: “No one can defend themselves against nuclear weapons, so I address the Russian people. Stop Putin!”
Shkurov thanked the Albanian people for the solidarity shown.
“Today I will not talk about people and life. I want to address the Albanian people and emphasize that today they are a peaceful people. Today they talk about what they think and what they think is peace. Today war must be stopped. Kiev is on fire. 16 children have died at the time we speak.
