TIRANA – As many as 51 affected persons with coronavirus were made public on Monday in the daily update by the deputy health minister Mira Rakacolli speaking to the media on the current situation.
According to her, among the total number four are medical staff of “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital in Tirana. During the last 24 hours 31 suspected people were tested which showed that there were 9 new cases, she said, revealing that some 563 cases had been tested and 51 suspected persons were confirmed infected with Covid-19.
On top of the list stands Tirana with 34 cases followed by Durres with 5 showing no new cases. In Lushnja, Elbasan and Rrogozhinae there are 2 cases in each of the towns, while 6 cases are found out in Fier.
As many as 20 patients are hospitalized in the infectious hospital in Tirana, and three of them are in intensive therapy, while the rest are in a stable condition until now. Those hospitalized in Tirana are from the capital, Durres, Fier, Lushja and Rrogozhina. )
“The Public Health Institute is continuing non-stop the epidemiological investigation and the testing of the suspected cases,” said Rakacolli, who had an appeal to people to call hotline number 127 in case of need and provide the medical staff with the detailed information on their cases.
“If you hide information on your movements from the medical staff, you risk infecting the staff and your relatives,” she said, closing with the urge to citizens: “Stay home!”
In the meantime it is reported a new measure according to which the entire Albania will be placed in quarantine starting from Tuesday. This new restriction was announced among other measures by Premier Edi Rama who warned of a ‘stormy’ week in face of Covid-19./argumentum.al
