“Some 66 cases were registered positive after 280 tests were made on suspected cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours,” said Mirela Cami, director of Health Care Operator, in the daily briefing on the current situation of the pandemic.
According to her, the infected persons came out to be mainly contacts of cases confirmed positive earlier, as well as new cases which are in the investigation process.
The geographical distribution of the spread of the disease is as following: 32 cases in Tirana, 12 in Kruja, 7 in Vlora, 6 in Durrës, 3 cases in Shkodra and Fier, 1 case in Tropoja, Lezha, and Elbasan, respectively,” said Cami.

Cami said that a 67-year-old patient from Shkodra who was confirmed positive with COVID-19 in an underlying health condition, passed away. The total toll of fatalities stands at 39 since the outbreak of the pandemic on March 9 this year.
At these uncertain times an event was held on Thursday when Ambassador Luigi Soreca, Head of EU Delegation to Albania, delivered to the Albanian Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu the third part of the EU’s assistance to Albania for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19. “The delivery took place today at the Mother Teresa Hospital in Tirana.
