TIRANA – The 21 new cases affected with coronavirus during the last 24 hours which were made public on Friday by the local health body show that the curb of the infections has not fallen since the outbreak of the pandemic on March 8 this year.
“In the last 24 hours, 253 people suspected of COVID-19 have been tested. Some 21 positive cases with COVID-19 have been confirmed from the test results. Out of the total of the new cases 11 were confirmed in Shkodra while there are 4 cases in Tirana, 4 cases in Kruja and Kurbin is added to the map with 2 cases. So far 5080 suspected cases have been tested and out of them 539 cases have been confirmed positive with COVID-19,” said the head of the Institute of Public Health, Albana Fico in the daily update on Friday.
According to her, 26 patients have lost the battle with this disease despite the efforts of medical staff. In the meantime, 6 other patients have been added to the list of the recovered, bringing the total number of cured people from COVID-19 to 283.
“As it can be seen in the epidemic curve we continue with an increase of the number of cured patients a trend which has exceeded the number of infected cases,” said Fico.
In a comment following the release of the latest update the deputy chairman of the opposition Socialist Movement for Integration, Petrit Vasili said it can be found nowhere the curb of Albania because there are no scientific possibilities for it to exist due to the fact that it is a manipulation. “This happens because the tests are very few and the aim of such an action is to hide the truth,” said Vasili, a former health minister.
According to him, the curb showing the dynamic of the epidemic is weird because of the chaotic numbers. He said the special and unheard curb is surprising the world.
“Massive tests would create the idea what kind of curb we have, that is we continue to rise, we have stopped, we are in the flat stage, we are exiting or waiting to exit from the pandemic,” said Vasili holding PM Edi Rama responsible for all this chaos.
“The PM speaks of excellent measures taken by him, but which are they, why the curb does not drop, why doesn’t it go up, why doesn’t it have a flat stage and it does not fall either? What kind of measures are these?” were some of the questions put by the SMI senior official. /argumentum.al
