TIRANA – Following a moderate stationary trend over the last few days the number of affected persons confirmed with coronavirus stood at 7 the lowest number since the outbreadk of the pandemic on March 10, but unfortunately a fatality was reported in the early hour of Friday, according to the daily update by Albanian health authorities.
“Some 162 suspected coronavirus cases have been tested out of which 7 new cases were found positive during the last 24 hours,” said the expert of the Institute of Public Health (ISHP), Marjeta Dervishi in a press statement on Friday.
”So far 416 cases have been confirmed positive in Albania. Following the progress of this infection a stable trend of confirmed cases is observed,” she said.
It is to be noted that the number of the recovered patients keeps groing daily with 17 patients adding to the previous cured persons taking to 182 the total number of people who won the battle with Covid-19.
According to Friday’s medical bulletin there are currently 50 patients in the infectious diseases hospital and 6 of them are in intensive care, and 1 patient is intubated. In the COVID 2 hospital “Shefqet Ndroqi”, there are 6 patients hospitalized in total, while 4 patients are intubated.
The map of those affected by COVID-19 has expanded in Tirana with 3 cases and Shkodra 4 cases,” said Public Health Institute expert, Marjeta Dervishi.
The victim of Covid-19 was from Shkodra, northern Albania, taking the death toll to 24. The elderly is the second victim from the city of Shkodra, who passed away after three months in coma. Shkodra Municipality has confirmed 49 people infected with Covid-19, four cases only in the last 24 hours. /argumentum.al
