TIRANA – The last 24 hours marked the worst day of the progress of the coronavirus epidemic with two fatalities – a 67-old man from Tirana and a 72-year old woman from Vlora rising the total number of victims to 10 in Albania, according to official information issued by the health ministry.
In the daily update on Saturday it is explained that there were 11 new cases confirmed with Covid-19 out of 79 tested persons and the total number of the infected people amount to 197 since the outbreak of the epidemic.
The total number of the tested people stands at 1325. The figures also show that 33 patients have recovered which is considered by medical specialist a good sign.
“Epidemiologists are in the field at any local health care unit from north to south and are doing an extraordinary work to identify the contacts after the verification of the suspected cases on time,” said the health ministry.
Tirana is on top of the list with the highest number of cases confirmed positive (113) followed by Fier with 21 cases. /argumentum.al
