TIRANA – What has become more serious in the context of COVID19 IS the high rate of hospitalizations of infected people and the aggravation of the situation of patients in intensive care when Albania confirmed 82 new cases in the last 24 hours on Thursday.
“Currently 84 patients are hospitalized, 11 patients are in intensive care in serious condition and 6 of them are intubated, being in serious condition,” said Mirela Cami, a specialist at the Health Ministry.
Cami said Tirana continues to lead the number of the new cases with 30 infections reported, followed by Shkodra with 11, Kukes with 6 and Elbasan with 5.
Meanwhile, the number of the recovered patients stands at 41 which is as much as half of those infected on Thursday. Albania has reached the quota with 31 thousand tests in total during pandemics, while the total number of cases is 3,188 detected, said Cami.
There are currently 1,273 active people in Albania with COVID19, mainly in Tirana, Shkodra, Kruja, Durres, she said.
The Health Ministry recommended again that every citizen should take care to follow the following rules: keep social distance, use the face mask indoors and maintain personal and collective hygiene.
Cami did not say what will happen with the recommendation of the technical committee which anticipated an obligatory wearing of face masks by citizens. /argumentum.al
