The Minister of Agriculture, Bledi Çuçi has been picked up as Minister of Interior replacing Sander Lleshaj who resigned over the tragic assassination of a youth by police a few days ago in Tirana.
The murder of the 25-year-youth, Klodian Rasha by a police officer has instigated strong violent protests across Albania with youth and other strata of the people denouncing the tragic event which PM Edi Rama called ‘accidental’ before justice giving the verdict.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday, Rama announced that he will send Çuçi’s name as Minister of Interior to President Ilir Meta for a decree.
Meanwhile, Milva Ikonomi, a well known Socialist Party figure, is expected to be appointed Minister of Agriculture. She has been a minister of economy earlier while now she is head of the parliamentary economic committee.
“Today I will send the names of Bledi Çuçi as Minister of Interior and Milva Ikonomi as Minister of Agriculture to President for being decreed. They are two collaborators dedicated to every task they have performed over the years, with undoubted integrity, professionalism and civic and political culture,” Rama said./argumentum.al
