TIRANA, October 24 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has raised several questions about the death of the young, Lear Kurti in one of the police stations in Tirana, accusing the government and the police of wanting to cover up a flagrant state crime.
In a statement to the media on Monday, Meta said that this criminal situation, which has Prime Minister Edi Rama as its supporter and inspiration, has only one solution: the immediate removal of Rama, Interior Minister Bledar Çuçi as the main responsible for repeated state crimes. He further requested penal procedures against the head of the Police Monitoring Agency, Ardi Veliu, who was a top police officer to be replaced by Gledis Nano who was fired by Rama.
“The government and the police of Rama are trying to treat the shocking case of the loss of Lear Kurti’s life as an ordinary event. They want to cover up a flagrant state crime,” said Meta.
According to him, they are trying to hide the truth, while it is still very fresh in the memory of all Albanians, the macabre murder of Klodian Rasha and the deception of the police of Rama and the Ministry of the Interior.
“Filled with patronagists, inspired and politically supported by the arrogance of the Prime Minister and the same behavior and attitudes as him and the Minister of the Interior, the police today are no longer seen as an institution that protects the lives and safety of citizens, but as a criminal threat for them,” Meta said.
The head of FP posed some questions about the event and concluded by saying that this criminal situation that is supported and inspired by Edi Rama has only one solution: the immediate removal of Rama, Interior Minister Çuçi as the main responsible for repeated state crimes. “A lawsuit should be filed against Ardi Veliu, a violator, deceiver and manipulator of some very serious criminal events of the police of Rama,” stressed Meta. /Argumentum.al
