TIRANA, April 8 – Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reiterated that he will always oppose the cases when the US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim acts as governor, and that he does not agree with her positions in a continued support for the government of Edi Rama in a press conference in Tirana on Friday.
Asked if he had repented on his stance towards Kim after the statement of the US senior diplomat Gabriel Escobaron Thursday, Berisha said he had respect for the ambassador when she acts in accordance with the line of President Biden, just as he did not agree with her intentions when she acts as governor of Albania.
“I will oppose it and denounce it. US policies in Tirana without any discussion aim at support for this country, I cannot agree with the attitudes of the governor, her continued support for the government of (PM) Edi Rama and genuine anti-opposition actions,” said the veteran Democratic Party leader.
Berisha believed that Albanians should be loyal partners of the US, being sovereign as citizens, a free people who decide with their free vote. /Argumentum.al
