The parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance rejected on Thursday with 14 votes against the decree “On regional development and cohesion” that divides Albania into 4 regions issued by President Ilir Meta.
Meta’s advisor Bledar Dervishaj who was present at the meeting had a clash with Deputy Prime Minister Erion Brace.
The latter has accused Meta of this decree and stressed that the President can not judge the MPs or call the local leaders as illegal.
“I want to tell the President that there is no constitutional or legal right to insult the deputies of the Parliament. He has no right to make any assessment of the elected deputies, how they are elected or the way they exercise their duty because the deputies are elected through an electoral process,” said Brace./argumentum.al
