TIRANA, June 5 – The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu, said in the first comment about the arrest of the General Secretary of this ministry, Joana Duro, that she distances herself from her, saying that the responsibility is individual.
“My position is firm and clear. Anyone who violates the principles must face the consequences provided by the law! And the responsibility is individual,” she said in the plenary session of the Assembly on Monday.
The opposition in the Parliament described as a repeated refrain the distancing of high socialist officials from subordinates who are caught red-handed in corrupt affairs. The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party (DP), Gazmend Bardhi, demanded the resignation of the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu two days ago in the meeting of the parliamentary group.
“Today is the time for SPAK not to become the shield of corruption at the highest political level in the Ministry of Health. Ogerta Manastirliu cannot act as if she does not know what happens with the tenders in her Ministry. Gentlemen of SPAK don’t pretend you don’t know this! Investigate Ogerta Manastirliu, too!” said the statement.
However, the minister retorted by saying that she distanced herself from the case and that the case has already passed to justice. Instead Manastirliu found the answer by accusing the DP when it was in government for the protection of the corrupt officials. /argumentum.al
