The chairmanship of the Democratic Party (DP) held on Wednesday the first meeting after the resignation of Lulzim Basha who is temporarily replaced by Enkelejd Alibeaj, who was deputy chairman and one of the closest allies of Basha.
Alibeaj said the main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the situation in the party. “First, for tomorrow we have presented a motion with debate. It is one of the signs of the opposition fight which is one of the directions the party should follow in parliament,” he said
As a second issue was the situation in DP regarding the further action. “The weight for everyone is great. But we all have to think together what steps we need to take being prudent,” Alibeaj said.
In the meantime Helidon Bushati said uniting is the key word of rhetoric and political action of DP. “Concrete acts are needed for this constructive debate so that the objective is unification without excluding any. The first gesture would be to remove the armored doors. I do not have this opinion alone. We must return to normalcy,” he said.
For his part Xhelal Meziu said DP is in a bad situation, but in good time to precede the 2023 local elections. “We have to find a way to unite… We have the potential to find a solution. The solution is to set a joint commission,” he said. /Argumentum.al
