TIRANA, October 11 – The branch of the Democratic Party (DP) in the city of Elbasan, central Albania, held a protest on Tuesday in opposition to the increase of fuel prices.
Through a message on Facebook, MP Luciano Boçi condemned the behavior of the Police, which, according to him, was wrong, adding that the law enforcement chose to obey political orders to block the gathering.”We started the protests from Elbasan today. I wholeheartedly thank all the citizens and drivers who, beyond all their commitments, were on the Elbasan boulevard to protest against the increase of the price of fuel,” said DP deputy Boci. Further, he strongly condemned the insulting and unprofessional behavior of the Elbasan Police who chose to obey political orders to block the protesters who wanted to join the peaceful gathering in defense of the citizens’ interests.Boci warned PM Edi Rama of other protests which will be larger and stronger.
“Edi Rama must be prepared for any form of reaction from the citizens! They will be more and more. No one will forgive Edi Rama for putting his hand in their pocket to take their sweat money which is to feed the children!” said the DP deputy. /Argumentum.al
