TIRANA – The opposition Democratic Party (DP) has responded to the representative of the majority, Damian Gjiknuri, regarding the issue of open lists in the upcoming parliamentary elections due next spring. Through a statement on Facebook on Sunday, the general secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, emphasizes that the unilateral change of the Constitution is proof that PM Edi Rama continues the coalition with organized crime.
According to him, the elections in Albania were not harmed by the participation of political parties in this process, but by the cooperation of the Socialist Party (SP) with organized crime.
“The unilateral change of the Constitution is proof that Edi Rama continues the coalition with organized crime,” DP’s number two said, adding that elections were not harmed by the participation of political parties and the pre-election coalitions in the poll, but by the cooperation of Rama’s coalition with organized crime.
“Abandoned by citizens, Edi Rama is trying to break the rules of the race unilaterally, being afraid of losing the elections and his personal power, which he used only to support himself, the oligarchs and organized crime in 7 years,” he said, warning that unilateral changes cannot be binding on country’s political opposition.
“If Edi Rama has decided to blow up the next elections, we will do everything possible for him to bear the costpersonally, not Albania and the Albanians,” said DP’s senior official. /argumentum.al
