TIRANA, July 17 – The deputies of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party (DP) led by former head Lulzim Basha filed on Monday the request to summon Prime Minister Edi Rama to an interpellation in the Assembly. At the center of the hearing will be the investigative file of the Special Anti Corruption Prosecution for Incinerators through which the arrest warrant was signed for the former Deputy Prime Minister, Arben Ahmetaj, who is on the run escaping the arrest required by SPAK.
“According to the regulation, the request for urgent interpellation is mandatory. There is a request from a group of colleagues for a motion with debate. I find the opportunity to call the conference of the chairmen regarding the discussion about the incinerator affair. In addition the legalization of cannabis will be voted on in plenary session on Thursday. The discussion on the cannabis law was done in violation of the Parliament’s regulations,” said the head of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, who announced the news about the hearing session with the PM.
According to the request, there are two issues identified by the deputies and for which Prime Minister Edi Rama must provide explanations during the interpellation: firstly, the identification of the location of his closest collaborator and his delivery to justice, and secondly, if the State Budget money that has been paid for unfinished works or fictitious works have been returned to the State Budget.
The MPs demanded that the request for an urgent interpellation with the Prime Minister be included in the agenda of the July 20, 2023 session as the first item on the agenda. /argumentum.al
