DP’s Basha doesn’t lose any opportunity to deny accusations of his ‘padrino’ Berisha

Like never before the current head of the Democratic Party (DP), Lulzim Basha reacts immediately when his figure is mentioned linked with compromising files like “Toyota Yaris” rejecting the accusations levelled by his former ‘padrino’ Sali Berisha.
Berisha, the DP veteran leader, sponsored eagerly Basha making him his successor at the cost of losing prominent figures of the party who abandoned DP turning hostile to it.
In a tit-for-tat reaction on Friday Basha responded to the statements of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha on “Toyota Yaris”, made on Friday in Foltore of Devoll. Basha declared the only file and the only issue is that persona ‘non grata’ from the USA.
Berisha was declared non grata by US State Secretary Bliken under alleged charges of corruption a move which has faced a lawsuit by Berisha with a Paris court.
According to the DP leader, Basha, fabrications and slander can not solve Sali Berisha’s plight.
“Fiction and slander can not solve the plight of Sali Berisha. There is only one file, there is only one issue and that is the non grata case from the US. It is this issue that forces Sali Berisha to fall so low in the hope that he will turn the DP into a shield of personal interests,” he said in a note released on social networks.
“There is nothing lower than using Democrats and their sensitivities as cannon fodder for your personal plight,” noted Basha who has led the DP to failure after failure in general and local elections refusing to resign despite a rising voice in the DP.
December 11 Assembly called by supporters of Berisha aim at dismissing Basha from the party leadership.
