A different kind of politics is coming; Democrats have never been afraid, Sali Berisha has started a movement for his own problems.
These were some of the highlights of a meeting of the Democratic Party (DP) head, Lulzim Basha with the leading structures of branch 8 in Tirana on Saturday where he promised the creation of the broadest alliance with the citizens.
“We are determined and we are showing with deeds, not with words that a different policy is coming, which has already given the first example and will give even more examples,” said Basha, who could not provide a concrete example of his successes since 2013 when he was beaten by the Socialist Party (SP) head, Edi Rama. Basha was a loser in the April 25 general poll last year, too, and Rama has pledged he will defeat him again in the next elections.
In a comment on the scheme of incinerators Basha said the DP carried out a six- year battle “for a painful truth, for a corrupt affair of monstrous, monstrous proportions worth minimally 430 million euros.”
Speaking about former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Basha said that “Berisha started a whole movement only for his personal plight. And it ended as I told you. He, along with a handful of people who are ready to set fire to their house for their chairs, showed that this is not a battle for either democracy or democrats , but for Sali Berisha’s personal plight and for their chairs.”
In conclusion Basha said Democrats have not been afraid of challenges. “We have never been afraid of the opponent, even when he was and has been as he is today having available all the means,” he said. / Argumentum.al
