TIRANA, April 22 – After the decision of the Electoral College to put the name of Ilir Meta at the head of the ‘Together We Win’ coalition and the logos of all political parties on the ballots, the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha has blamed PM Edi Rama. He said on Saturday that all this happens because the Prime Minister is terrified of the opposition.
“Do you see that in some aspects we are worse than in 1991? Because Edi Rama’s fierce fight against the opposition is the most unprecedented since the DP was founded. He was terrified by the opposition and ordered his mercenaries to violate laws and the Constitution, to appoint his own chairman to the coalition, which the law explicitly recognizes as members of the coalition,” said Berisha whose party is part of the coalition “Together We Win” together with Freedom Party chaired by Ilir Meta.
“I am honored that he shows the horror he has of Sali Berisha, but the problem is his attitude towards the opposition. He knows that the opposition is a pillar of democracy, but regardless of this, he wants to control the opposition as well. He wants to steal, to steal as much as possible,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
