TIRANA, August 19 – The ‘golden passport’ in the first and only narco-state in Europe, Albania, is a black channel to launder the narco-Euros of the heartless traffickers of the region, Europe and the world in Albania, declared the Chairman of Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha.
In a press conference on Friday, Berisha said that this type of passport is an opportunity used by those governments and countries where the rule of law works to attract foreign investments. Whereas the golden passport in the Albanian narco-state is a black channel for the toxic money of drug and crime bosses, money which, with the towers of corrupt nationalist monuments as the international press has called them in Tirana, is destroying the appearance, urban planning, traffic and environment, said Berisha.
According to him, after the initiative for the legalization of cannabis, the law on fiscal amnesty, the legalization of crime money coming in from abroad, the ‘golden passport’ is the third and last mechanism of the trinomial of turning Albania into an earthly paradise for drug traffickers and regional European and world crime.
Touching upon the rising crime rate in the Albania, where there have recently been a strong of Mafiosi crimes, Berisha said the truth is that the gist of these bloody events stands in the fact that it is the crime gangs that control every cell of this country and they are in a way the real state of it.
In a comment on the law on opening the files of former spies of the State Security (Sigurimi i Shtetit), Berisha said that the ruling Socialist Party (SP) is making in Parliament a law against former President Ilir Meta, a bill which is based on defamation that has been rejected.
“We have been, are and will be for the lustration law, there can be no hesitation. What the SP does seem to do is a law that if we call it the anti-Meta law is based on a clear defamation rejected by the author himself of which Mr. Meta is accused. If the SP is willing to restore the lustration law, the authority to open files exists, and there is no need to establish it. We are for lustration,” said Berisha.
