TIRANA, June 15 – Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reacted on the visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama to Ukraine during which he was accompanied by the Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Elisa Spiropali.
“Defense Minister Peleshi and Foreign Minister Xhaçka were excluded from the trip. The latter’s trip was refused by Rama himself. This was done because he knew that in the talks President Zelenski would raise the issue of Rama’s double- standard regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine,”said Berisha, who is reelected chairman of the Democratic Party. According to him, Albania on the one hand has denounced Russian aggression against Ukraine and imposed sanctions on Russia, but on the other hand, Edi Rama accepts Russian tourist murderers, rapists and hostages in the war in Ukraine, who come from Belgrade to Albania for holidays.
“In addition, in violation of sanctions, Rama has allowed mysterious anchorages of Russian ships in our ports. These talks could not be heard by Peleshi and Xhaçka, because they would make public everything upon the return to Albania,” said Berisha.
“In conclusion, I strongly condemn Edi Rames’s two-faced policy towards Ukraine and demand that this policy ends immediately,” Berisha said in his post on social media on Wednesday.
