TIRANA, September 15 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has said that the DP will start protests which will be uninterrupted.
“The party will start the protests. However, we must see the opposition’s effort as a process. This is not a protest that will start today, it will stay there for a few hours and then it will be dispersed,” said Berisha in his weekly press conference on Friday.
According to him, this will be a different kind of protest which requires a complete preparation, primarily psychological, and political and once it starts, it should not be stopped.
Further the DP head said the essence of the entire effort of the opposition is the protection of the freedoms of the Albanian citizens, their vote, the restoration of these rights. Albanian citizens are facing very painful problems, which perhaps in one way or another, destroy their interest in freedom, he said.
“But we are here and we will do everything to convince them that all that is happening has a common denominator, the lack of their freedom in every aspect. If the opposition gives up on this, it signs to be the facade of a regime that is based on crime, drugs and theft of Albanian citizens,” said Berisha.
Asked about who is the General Secretary of the DP, Berisha said: “The General Secretary of the DP is Flamur Noka. Mr. Gazment Bardhi is the chairman of the parliamentary group; we are moving towards unification in a serious process and in a process that is widely welcomed by the democrats.” /argumentum.al
