This statement was made by the elected MP of the opposition Democratic Party (DP) Zheni Gjergji who reacted to the use by Albania of vaccines not certified by EMA on Monday. According to the deputy, the use of uncertified vaccines by the European health authority is penalizing the free movement of Albanians.
“The use of EMA’s certified vaccines in the population going beyond EU rules is penalizing the acceptance of the green pass, which allows free movement of Albanians in the Schengen area,”said Gjergji.
“She stressed that Albanians deserve more than a corrupt approach to the health care and vaccination system. Albanians deserve dignity and freedom of travel,” the newly elected DP deputy said.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Health published the latest COVID-19 data in Albania saying in the official announcement that 397 new cases were recorded on Monday. No casualties were reported, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the Ministry appealed to citizens to be vaccinated as soon as possible to protect themselves and their family members and to stop the spread of the dangerous virus.
August is an open month of anti-COVID vaccination for every citizen +18 years old.
