TIRANA, January 23 – “The nationalization by Edi Rama and Bledi Çuçi of the production of biometric passports and identity cards is the next step in the transformation of the new Albanian capitalism into a communist state corporation.”
This was declared to the media on Monday by the spokesperson of the Democratic Party (DP), Floriana Garo regarding the cancellation of the contract with the French company ‘Aleat’, which has been producing passports and identity cards for Albanians during the last 16 years.
She said that according to the information of the DP, the French have insisted on renewing the contract based on good credits, but Rama prefers oligarchs and patronagists with whom he has something to share.
“The passing of this service under Rama’s administration, precisely at the time when it has the lowest points in the public, after successive scandals and especially after the spectacular failure with e-Albania and the entire cyber security structure, is a red alarm for Albania and Europe,” said Garo.
“It is no coincidence that there is talk of golden passports, of fiscal amnesty, that there are interventions in the TIMS system for which Iranians are blamed, that the data of Albanians circulate as if they were lottery numbers in the weekend newspaper,” DP spokeswoman said.
Garo added that with the presence of Aleat, it seems as if Rama and Çuçi are annoyed by the only element of the security infrastructure that could not be caught by hacking.
“By running the only company that has standards and maintains standards, Edi Rama proves the profile of his governance that is guided only by theft and profit. With this irresponsible act for the enrichment of himself and his clan, Edi Rama essentially threatens the return of visas for Albanians,” concluded Garo. /Argumentum.al
