TIRANA, May 18 – The head of the Union for Human Rights Party (PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, condemned the arrest of the new head of the Municipality of Himara, Fredi Beleri, while calling for his release from prison in a speech held in the plenary session of the Assembly which resumed its deliberations on Thursday after the local elections of May 14.
Dule accused PM Edi Rama of hiding behind the order for the arrest of Beleri while emphasizing that the latter is a political prisoner.
“With the denigration and vote buying, we remembered that we had seen it all. But the ruling sect surprised us again. Proving that it knows no limits, the blindness of arrogance led them to the act that proves tyranny: the arrest of the rival candidate and then the winner of the elections,” said Dule.
According to him, the head of the Himara community is a political prisoner, he was kidnapped by the Renaissance sect, he was taken hostage by Edi Rama. “Mr. Beleri was arrested red-handed for suspicions. How can a prime minister deal personally with the citizens? Here everything is in one’s hands.”
Dule launched the appeal that the head of the Municipality of Himara should go to the Himara community.
In the meantime, the harsh criticism continues by the Greek authorities against Albanian authorities and Beleri has been visited by the Greek foreign secretary and the Greek Ambassador to Tirana. /argumentum.al
