Instead of 19 April, the EU foreign ministers will discuss the Western Balkans on 10 May, in the hope that a physical meeting of the Council of the EU will be possible then, RTS reported on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Enlargement and Stabilization and Association Process remains on the agenda of the European affairs ministers on 20 April. The presidency will briefly present the state of play and set out its ambitions in this area for the coming months, the announcement reads.
The launch of the first intergovernmental negotiations of the EU with Albania and North Macedonia are pending as the decision on such a step has been put off many times, and it is not clear any set deadline. Besides others such a delay is being dragged as the EU is preparing to launch with fanfare the process of the Conference for the Future of Europe which will climax with a Summit next year seen as an event to determine the future course of the EU and its vision on Europe.
A reliable source has already confirmed that the Western Balkans is not part of the priorities of the agenda of this Conference. /argumentum.al
