TIRANA, September 10 – Europol has announced the 39-year-old Albanian, Armando Pacani, is wanted as he is suspected of international drug trafficking.
According to Brazilian media, in March 2023 Europol busted a cocaine-trafficking organization operating from Brazil to Dubai. During this anti-drug operation coded “Hinterland”, it was discovered that the criminal organization had carried out transactions of more than 700 million euros and moved about 17 tons of cocaine to Europe, 12 of which were seized.
As a result of the interception of messages on the SKY ECC platform, Europol found the main buyer of the drug organization in Europe, namely Armando Pacani. According to the Federal Police, Pacani had ties to a drug clan in the Balkans. He was known by the authorities as “the owner of the cargo sent through West Africa to Europe”.
Pacani is currently on the run, with immigration records showing he arrived in Brazil in January 2019 and then left for Dubai in August 2020. Europol suspects he is in Dubai, but Pacani’s lawyer has disputed all the charges, saying that Interpol is based on illegal evidence claiming that Interpol illegally interfered into the SKY ECC system. /argumentum.al
